About
My research interests is related to popular music studies and music anthropology. I have done research together with central rap and reggae performers and producers in Norway, and their production processes related to theoretical perspectives from ritual and performance theory. My research interest also includes the study of music, space, place, and geography, especially in relation to music making and performance in remote circumpolar areas. My main methodological perspective is ethnomusicological fieldwork. I also have interests in music publishing and copyright, both within popular music and traditional folk music. I am an active musician, music producer, and publisher, working within several fields of the Norwegian popular music scene, with musicians from traditional folk, Sami music, afrobeat, reggae, rap and hip hop.
